Music Directors

John Sclafani  just marked his 30th year as Music Director in 2011.  John is a graduate of Northeastern Bible College with a bachelors in Sacred Music and has taught public school for 34 years.  His duties include playing the organ for Worship Services, leading the Chancel Choir and scheduling the Handbell Choir, Youth Chorus and all other special music during worship.  He is humbled by the fact that God has given him this ability and that He has used him in this way through the years.

In 2010, Dave Murphy was happy to become the Handbell Director.  He began playing handbells at Morristown Presbyterian Church at age 6.  Dave enjoys teaching the basics of reading and playing music to beginners as well as experienced players.  He is thankful to the Lord for his musical calling.

Phyllis Smolley a lifelong teacher, has been the Youth Chorus Director for over 40 years.  God has blessed her with so many talents that she joyfully shares with the children.  Phyllis is the instrumental accompanist, who brings much inspiration to this group with her abundant love and care for the children.

Jean Manhardt has been a church member for 30 years and has served as Youth Chorus Co-Director for the past 11 years.  The Youth Chorus sings in the annual Plainfield Area Children's Choir Festival where she serves as treasurer on the B0ard of Directors.  Jean also uses her musical talents in the Adult Choir, Praise Band and Vacation Bible School.
